UMW BOARD MEETING CHANGE:  The Heritage UMW Board will be meeting Monday, January 30th, at Lucille Matta’s home to work on the calendar for 2012.  If you have any questions, please contact Denise Roberts, UMW President.

2012 DISTRICT LEADERSHIP TRAINING:  Two workshops will be offered at the annual leadership training this year:  Finance – David Stotts, Conference Treasurer, will be on hand to talk about “all things financial” for churches; and  Vital Congregations – The challenge has been made to every congregation in The United Methodist Church to set goals for the next quadrennium that will lead congregations closer to becoming a healthy and vital congregation, living out the mission of the church for God.  Rev. Bill McAlilly, will discuss your church’s role in building up the community of faith and movement towards health and vitality.  This training is intended for clergy, church staff, administrative council members and church leaders. The workshops will be presented at Long Beach FUMC on Tuesday, February 7th at 6:30 p.m. and again at Caswell Springs UMC on Monday, February 13th at 6:30 p.m.

AGAPE CIRCLE:  The Agape Circle is one of the three United Methodist Women circles that meet 002-0164monthly.  The ladies take care of feeding the families of Fisher House.  Fisher House provides a comfortable home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill patients at the Keesler Medical Center and the Biloxi/Gulfport Veterans Health Administration Hospitals.  Keesler Fisher House is the sixth of 43 Fisher Houses donated to those in need of lodging by the late Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher of New York.  The intent is to provide home-like accommodations.  The Agape Circle meets the last Sunday of every month at 12:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall.  If you have any questions, or would be interested in helping with this circle, contact Sheila Cruso, president.

MANNA MISSION:  Just a reminder that next week will be the first Sunday of the month and your 004-0068contributions to the Manna Mission to feed those in need are greatly appreciated.  If writing a check, please put “manna” on the bottom left section.  If you have any questions, please contact J. D. Matta at 326-9936.

CALENDAR DATES:  If you or your group has a date you wish to be set on the Church Calendar for 2012, please contact Linda in the church office at 392-4288.

SWEETHEART  DINNER:  The Annual Sweetheart Dinner is hosted by the Morning Glories and will be 005-0002held on Sunday, Feb. 12th at 6 p.m. This will be a covered dish dinner with surprise entertainment.  We invite and encourage everyone to join us on the 12th for an evening of great food, great fellowship and an opportunity to support a great ministry.

.

MAILBOXES:  Please check the mailboxes down the back hall.  There is some mail in a few that needs to be picked up.  Thank you.

DAVID ASHLEY:  Tonight is the night.  David Ashley will bring his ministry of song and worship to Heritage UMC!  We hope you will attend this wonderful event.  David has a Facebook page you can view at http://www.Facebook.com/davidashleymusic.  You can hear some of his award winning songs.

002-0165More than 20 years ago, the Souper Bowl of Caring began with a simple prayer from a single group: “Lord, as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us to be mindful of those without even a bowl of soup to eat.”  Since that day, more than $81 million has been raised for local charities across the country through Souper Bowl of Caring.  It has become a powerful movement that is transforming the time around Super Bowl weekend into the nation’s largest celebration of giving and serving.  Through this mission, young people learn what it’s like to make a positive difference in the world – as they collect food, raise money and volunteer to work in charities that provide shelter to the homeless, food to the hungry and compassion to those in need.  Be part of this movement that is sharing God’s love with those in need.  Please give generously on Super Bowl Sunday.  Every dollar donated goes to Mobile Manna, our 2012 Souper Bowl of Caring charity.

YOUTH SUPER BOWL PARTY:  The youth will have a Super Bowl Party at the Sims’ home on Sunday, 003-0002February 5th at 5:00 p.m.  Bring something good to eat or drink.  All youth 7th-12th grades are invited.  If you have questions, please contact Mr. Brian or Ms. Cindy Sims at 392-6167.
