VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL:  Don’t forget “Galactic Blast – a Cosmic Adventure Praising God” is coming up this week!  Dates 1are Monday, July 12th through Friday, the 16th, from 6-8:30 p.m.  Make plans for your space cadets to attend and bring their friends as we take off on the Starship ‘Galactic Praise’.

THANK YOU, KOHL’S:  Heritage UMC would like to thank Kohl’s for their generous donation to our Children and Youth Ministries.  Thanks also go out Mary Ownbey for her interest in helping us through Kohl’s.

FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING:  The next Finance Committee Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 20th at 6:30 p.m.  If you are a member, please plan to attend.

PRAYER GARDEN AND BRICK PAVERS:  Work for the Prayer Garden is going very well, and a big thanks to all of the 2volunteers for their help.  The brick pavers are expected to be installed by the end of July so the deadline for sponsoring a brick in honor or memory of a loved one is Thursday, July 15.  The pavers are $100, and you must fill out a form so we know what you want imprinted on the brick.  If you have not purchased a paver yet and plan to, don't miss your chance to honor a loved one with a paver in our beautiful Prayer Garden!

MESSAGE & MEDIA – COMMUNICATIONS TRAINING FOR THE LOCAL CHURCH:  Church communications is driven by the belief that people are important to God.  In its broadest sense, church communications is the sum total of everything we do, say, or show.  Churches are communicating, whether they mean to or not.  Intentionally communicating is the cornerstone of an effective communications ministry.  Brought down to one goal, church communications works with all the other ministries of the church to reach out and bring people into a relationship with each other and Jesus.  Lisa Michiels has organized a conference-wide training event on August 20-21 at The Orchard in Tupelo, MS.  Are you involved with or have interest in Outreach Ministry or Worship?  Then you should plan to attend this training.  For more information go to www.mississipp-umc.org and click on “Message & Media”.

FELLOWSHIP DINNER:  The July fellowship dinner will be hosted by the UMM on July 18th at 6 p.m.  Hamburgers and hot dogs 3will be provided.  Please bring a covered dish to share and be prepared for an evening full of good food, good fun, and great fellowship.  After dinner we will have a dessert auction in conjunction with Kids For Christ (KFC) and Christian Soldiers Rising (CSR).  Money raised will be used to help purchase benches for the Prayer Garden.  Money left over after purchasing three benches will be used to purchase the Strength for Service to God and Country daily devotional guides for military personnel deploying overseas.  Donations will also be accepted for the devotional guides.  Check out the UMMen bulletin board in the hallway for additional information on the effect these guide books have on the military.

FOOD AND FAITH:  UMW will have a study on July 17th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  All women of the church are invited and encouraged to attend.  This will be a fun time for us to study about food and its important place in our faith and in the church.  Please start saving magazines with pictures of food.  Also, lunch will be served.  Each person is asked to bring one salad item.  We will have lettuce, but we are asking each lady to bring one tomato, or one cucumber, etc.  It will be interesting to see the salad that we make together.  Please come join us for this FUN and informative study.

NOAH’S ARK CCC BOARD MEETING:  The next Noah’s Ark CCC board meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 19th at 6 p.m.
4 If you are a member, please plan to attend.

ATTENTION PARENT(S) OF ANY RISING 7TH GRADERS:  Please leave the youth’s name, address, and a contact number or email for YOU with Linda in the church office or with Ms. Nancy at 424-0043.

CALLING ALL STOCKHOLDERS:  Quarterly ‘free’ carwash for all stockholders will be held on Saturday, July 17 from 9-12:00. 5

PRAYERS ARE REQUESTED:  Please pray for the youth and their leaders as they travel to and from SIFAT July 18-23, and pray the Learn & Serve week will allow those in attendance to grow as individuals, grow in faith, and in an understanding of the love of Jesus Christ.
