General Fund 2010 Nine Weeks Shortfall -$9,190.00
WORK TEAMS: This week Heritage hosted 4 teams, a total of 59 volunteers, who were able to help 8 homeowners in our community.
PRAISE BAND PRACTICE: Practice is starting up again. It will be held on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. starting this Tuesday, March 16th. If you have questions, contact Tom Butler.
UMW SCHOLARSHIPS: The UMW will be giving two scholarships this year. The qualifications are: You must be a member of Heritage, a high school graduate, or continuing education. You must submit a letter by the April 18th deadline. Please turn in letters to Linda Seymour, Mary Scott, Sheila Cruso, or Margaret Roberts. HERITAGE “U” is scheduled for Tuesday, March 23 at 6:30 p.m. A Master Gardener, Mike Edenfield, from the Mississippi State University Extension Service will speak on Spring Gardening. Make your plans now to attend this informative workshop.
UMM BREAKFAST: All are invited to attend the UMM Breakfast Saturday, Mar. 20, at 7 a.m. Good food, good fellowship, short meeting. Join us.
FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING: There is a Finance Committee Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Mar. 16th at 6:30 p.m. Members are: Wil Cantrell, Bro. David Cumbest, Rick Murden, Virgil Yeager, Linda Richmond, Nancy Gentry, Sam Napier, Judy Thomas, Lena Loeding, Mark Hepler, Angel Barnes, Ron Barnes, Bob Ellis, Byron Dennis, Richelle Weiland, Tyler Sanders, Sara Lerch, Nicole Smith.
EVANGELISM SUMMIT 2010: Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations was written by Robert Schnase, bishop of the Missouri Area of the UMC, to describe the five core practices of congregational life for Missouri congregations. Beyond Missouri, UM congregations and other churches have found this work usable, practical, and helpful in advancing Christ’s ministry. On Saturday, April 10, 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at Christ UMC in Jackson, Bishop Schnase will present the five Biblical practices in three hour-long teaching presentations, one in the morning and two after lunch. There is a $15 registration fee. Lunch is provided and 0.5 CEU’s are available. Heritage will be taking the bus to this event. RELAY FOR LIFE: The youth are participating in the Ocean Springs “Relay For Life” on April 30th. They are selling Southern Belle T-shirts. The shirts are dark purple with the saying “Remembering by candlelight loved ones we’ve lost and those that still fight. Southern Belles…celebrate the night as we Relay for Life”. To place your order, contact any youth, Ms. Nancy, Cindy & Brian Sims, or Jamie Sanders. THE ORDER WILL BE PLACED TONIGHT! LAST CHANCE TO PURCHASE IS NOW.
HERITAGE UMC COFFEE MUGS: An order for the new Heritage UMC coffee cups will be turned in soon. If you are interested, see Larry or Lena Loeding, or talk to Linda in the church office. The small cups are $7.50 and the large cups are $8.50. There are also cups available without names.
OUTREACH NEEDS YOUR HELP: Outreach has a need for the following furniture items: Double size beds, twin size beds, dressers, living room furniture, dining room table with chairs, microwave, washer & dryer, and a baby crib with mattress. If you can help, please call J.D. Matta at 396-2241.

ATTENTION STOCKHOLDERS: Drag out those polyester leisure suits and platform shoes because it’s time for the Annual Stockholder Appreciation Dinner on Saturday, March 27, 2010, at 6 p.m. The Heritage Disco will be open for a wonderful evening of dining and entertainment. Dinner menu is spaghetti, green beans, salad, dinner roll, and dessert. Entertainment will be provided by Kelly Norris and the Village People. Yes, that’s right…the Village People have reunited and are making a one time only appearance at the Heritage Disco. We promise this will be an evening you don’t want to miss. RESERVATIONS required! PALMER CREEK SPRING RETREAT: The youth are attending this retreat March 19 – 21. Please keep the youth and their leaders in your prayers for a spirit filled and safe weekend.
Just a Friendly Reminder: Each Sunday, before and after worship there will be a “Change for Change” jar sitting in the church foyer. Please save your loose change during the week and put it in the jar on Sunday. These funds will be give to the Youth Service Fund (YSF).
